Where to now?

I started this blog to share my experiences travelling Europe as a writer in search of story, and researching for two novels that I'm writing. One, an historical coming-of-age and quest story set in Venice in the 18th Century is for for older children and any readers who like historical novels and/or books about feisty girls who must follow their dreams against the odds.

The other is a book for younger children, an historical quest story of a young boy who lived 15,000 years ago in the Dordogne region of France - yes, a prehistorical book, but not as far back in time as my first novel, Secrets of Eromanga (from millions of years ago in the Cretaceous period).

My research trip to Europe proved to be very worthwhile ... especially for the Venice novel.

I have now completed the last quarter of the story, the final season in the year 1715 and the end of Caterina's quest.

This week I've been editing the whole manuscript. Soon I will put it aside for a short time to let it settle, before having one last 'polish' - then I'll send it to a couple of my favourite publishers.

This story, more than any other I've written has the potential to sell overseas, but time will tell.

I've also made a decision about this travel blog ... I will always be In Search of Story, that's what writers do. So, this blog will continue in this vein. Whether you are a writer or not, I hope I can interest you to stay tuned in.

You are most welcome to pass on my blog link to anyone you think might be interested.

Signing off from the good ship, Author.
